“O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,”
(John Sullivan Dwight (1813-1893)
As I write, it’s a clear night, the stars are shining and there’s a heavy frost on the roofs I can see from my study window. One of the carols we’ll invite you to sing with us at our Christmas concert is ‘Good King Wenceslas’ and that was on a very cold night too.
This year’s concert is at St. Mary’s in Hemel Old Town, on Friday 13th December, from 7 pm. An auspicious date and we look forward to meeting you there, over a glass of Prosecco and a mince pie, after the singing.
We’ll also ask our audience to join in ‘O come all ye faithful’, ‘God rest ye marry, gentlemen’ and ‘I’m dreaming of a White Christmas’
We’ll be back to rehearsal after the holidays on 7th January. We meet on Tuesdays in term times at the Church of the Resurrection in Grovehill, HP2 6BJ (aka ‘the church behind the chippy,) from 9.45 till 11.35 am. We welcome new members at any time. Just come along to a rehearsal and see if we’re for you.
