Westbrook Hay Boardwalk Closure
As part of the Box Moor Trust’s commitment to maintaining high standards across the Estate, the boardwalk from the Old Barn through Hay Wood has been closed for use and is due to be dismantled over the next few months. In its place, later this year work will begin to create a new all-weather path along the route of the old boardwalk. In the meantime, please use the alternative route through the northerly side through the wood.
Box Moor Trust Annual Public Meeting
This year we will be holding our Annual Public Meeting on Wednesday 14th September 2022 at 7pm at the South Hill Centre, Cemetery Hill, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1JF. There should be adequate parking at the venue, but overspill parking is available if necessary a short walk away in the Water Gardens car park, which is free of charge in the evenings.
If you would like to attend the meeting, please email admin@boxmoortrust.org.uk by 3pm on Friday 9th September 2022 to register.
Trustees and staff look forward to talking to you about ongoing and future projects, and to hear your views and ideas.
Tree felling along Box Lane
At the Box Moor Trust, we take care to ensure the estate provides a home for wildlife and a safe and enjoyable amenity space for all of our local communities.
Unfortunately, many trees along Box Lane and in Bury Wood are sadly dying. This is likely partially caused by a disease called Ash Dieback, which is having a destructive impact on Ash trees across the country.
Trees that are dead or dying will become weak and drop branches or fall over entirely. Unfortunately, this means that these trees could pose a risk, as they may fall onto roads or footpaths. We have taken the decision to remove trees that are dead or severely affected. This work will start in October, please see the website for further information.
