Planning is already underway for the Hemel Rotary Santa Sleigh and we can now reveal the list of dates and routes … keep reading!

The Rotary Santa Sleigh has now operated for 4 full years, and is a much-loved feature of Christmas in Dacorum. We have again engaged the support of local charities, who deliver leaflets along the 25 routes, and accompany the Sleigh. This is a morale boosting community that brings joy to the children, and indeed to adults’ faces.

Much has been learnt coping with the Covid pandemic. The lockdown caused a cutback in the number of routes, but still over £13,000 was raised for local charities.

Collectors no longer knock on doors, but money is still collected at the roadside and the leaflets distributed include details of how to donate. The Santa procession proceeds faster with no door knocking enabling the routes to be extended to allow more children the experience.

Advanced publicity advises when locations will be visited, and how Santa is progressing on the day can be tracked at Christmas.trackit.247.com.  A full programme of 25 routes is planned.
